# Metagaming

Metagaming is strictly prohibited. Metagaming occurs when players use information obtained outside of their character's in-game perspective to influence their roleplay decisions or actions. This includes, but is not limited to:

* Using third-party communication platforms such as **Discord calls**, voice chats, or text messages to share or obtain in-game information (e.g., sharing locations of other players or ongoing situations).
* Checking the **server scoreboard** or any other out-of-character tools to identify player IDs or gather information about other players that your character would not realistically know.
* Watching streams, videos, or any form of content to gain in-game information about ongoing events or player locations, often referred to as "stream sniping."
* Sharing in-character information in out-of-character chats or forums.

**Examples of Metagaming:**

1. **Discord Calls**: Two players use a Discord voice call to coordinate an ambush on another player, bypassing in-game communication.
2. **Scoreboard Abuse**: Using the server scoreboard (e.g., middle click) to obtain information for purposes other than legitimate server functions, such as filing an OUT OF CHARACTER report, is a violation of the metagaming rule. This includes checking the scoreboard to determine if a character is a player or an AI (ped), or to find out someone’s name or identity in-game. Such actions are strictly prohibited and undermine the integrity of roleplay.
3. **Medical Script:** Using the medical script menu to obtain a persons name.
4. **Stream Sniping**: Watching a player's live stream to find their current location or gain insight into their plans, then using that information to act against them in-game.
5. **Out-of-Character Communication**: Sharing the location of a hidden stash or in-game gang plans via text messages or DMs instead of in-character methods like in-game voice chat or notes.
